  1. It’s unsafe for a 17 year old girl to stay solo in the wild
at a time when the country is experiencing massive mass
shootings. Her family should not allow this to happen.

You couldn’t be more RIGHT. Now every sicko reading this knows she will be alone on the Appalachian trail. I would definitely not allow that if it was my daughter. Look at the world we are living in today.i don’t care how good her skills are so much can go wrong and it’s a proven statistic that doing things without a buddy system can and has proven fatal. Japanese girl with blog that is a hiker who was climbing with her bathing suit under her hiking clothes would take pictures of herself on top of mountain and post it to her blog. Had quite a following but she fell into a ravine when she lost her balance now she had only her bathing suit to keep her warm. She was critically injured cell phone lost or damaged and I think they finally located her with GPS on phone but the weather turned bad and they could not use helicopter and by the time they could she had died of exposure. Now I’m sure she never thought of this situation happening but it did. My point is anything can happen and had she not been alone perhaps she would still be alive
