A Boston grand jury has returned additional charges against 11 of the 15 parents charged in the college admissions scandal. Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannuli, are among the parents affected in the third superseding indictment, Yahoo Entertainment can confirm.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Loughlin, Giannuli and nine other defendants are accused of conspiring “to commit federal program bribery by bribing employees of the University of Southern California (USC) to facilitate their children’s admission.

In exchange for the bribes, employees of the university allegedly designated the defendants’ children as athletic recruits – with little or no regard for their athletic abilities – or as members of other favored admissions categories.”

The charge of conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery provides for a sentence of up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000 or twice the gross gain or loss, whichever is greater.

“Today’s charges are the result of [an] ongoing investigation in the nationwide college admissions case,” U.S. Attorney Andrew E. Lelling said in a statement Tuesday. “Our goal from the beginning has been to hold the defendants fully accountable for corrupting the college admissions process through cheating, bribery and fraud. The superseding indictments will further that effort.”

Loughlin and Giannuli were previously charged on two counts: conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and honest services mail and wire fraud. They were already facing up to 40 years in prison — a maximum of 20 years for each of the charges.

Prosecutors allege that the Full House actress and her fashion designer husband paid bribes totaling $500,000 to get their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli, into USC as crew recruits despite neither girl having rowed.

The new conspiracy charge is only against parents, like Loughlin and Giannuli, who pleaded not guilty to the initial indictment. Parents who have already pleaded guilty or accepted plea deals, like Felicity Huffman, do not face additional charges. Huffman pleaded guilty to one charge of fraud conspiracy.

Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison, 250 hours of community service and a fine of $30,000. The Desperate Housewives star reported for sentencing at a federal correctional facility in California last week.

Lelling confirmed Loughlin faces more jail time than Huffman if convicted.

“If she’s convicted … we would probably ask for a higher sentence for her than we did for Felicity Huffman,” he said in an interview earlier this month. “I can’t tell you exactly what that would be. The longer the case goes, let’s say she goes through to trial, if it is after trial, certainly, we would ask for something substantially higher. If she resolved it before trial, something lower than that.”

He praised Huffman for taking responsibility for her actions, saying “she handled it in a very classy way.”

“If people take responsibility for their conduct and they take responsibility for their conduct early on, then it will probably go better for them,” he shared. “What I value in the Felicity Huffman sentence is that I think it sent a clear message to the other parents involved that there really is a good chance that if you’re convicted of the offense, you are going to go to prison for some period of time because the least culpable defendant who took responsibility right away, even she got prison.”

      1. They are the ONE’S that need to be put in PRISON ! By THEY ARE THE ONE’S that needs to be in PRISON
is the COLLEGE or UNIVERSITY’S ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL that the JUSTICE SYSTEM needs to be looking at not the parents ! SURE some of the Parent’s should it some of the BLAME
        all so.

    1. Yes, it is, but at least she admitted She made a mistake , took the punishment, but just like Washington elites, Lori thinks She is above the law and some Attorney will get her off.

    1. YOU’VE FLAUNTED YOUR WEALTH AND SELF IMPORTANCE, SO WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST GET A TUTOR OR THE ‘AIR HEADS’ SO THEY COULD BE ADMITTED ON THEIR OWN…NO, YOU THINK YOUR’S DOESN’T STINK…BUT FLASH…IT DOES!

      1. This has been on going since 1966 why go after the parents, go after the college’s for let the person in! They the problem!

  1. Ha Ha Ha serves her right. Lie like a dog just because you “think” you are better than anyone else. All you celebrities think you are better, well you know nothing. Get your holy then thou heads out of your butts and come down to earth. Do the crime pay the time. You knew what you were doing and don’t say you didn’t. Go to Prison Lori, cry your eyes out behind them there bars. People like you need to learn!!

  2. low I-Q student and rich parent = big name school and then out comes a below average graduate ,with a big name school degree, and end up in a big powerful business , making wrong decisions, that many will suffer from, was all of this for the parent to use as a status when hob nobbing with the rich and famous ???? I doubt the student had much say in it .

    1. I agree with you. But I also feel the student should be expelled from the school. If the student didn’t have the IQ to get in on their own then they shouldn’t be there!!

      1. responsibility for cheating. How about all the students that get free rides because their not Americans. That’s not fair either. Jealousy is a terrible snake but they should be punished and kids thrown out if bad GPA

  3. I don’t know about the kids not knowing anything, I will agree with you and give them the benefit of doubt. I think you are right, makes you wonder how many of our current leaders and captains of industry are sub average IQ and only hold their positions because of bribery and cheating. I reckon that is what happens when you have a two tier system of haves and have nots. Still it is good to know if I ever get rich I can buy my education. lol The swamp isn’t only in DC evidently. 🙂

    1. Has nothing to do w/education. Going to USC is like driving a ‘vert Bentley in their community. Bling !

  4. The prosecutors here should include Joe bidens son who was put on boards of multi big name companies in China and Ukraine where multi billions of dollars in a quid pro quo scheme because of the status and position of his father….meanwhile us commoners and schlubs have to play by the rules and actually qualify and do the work.

  5. These self entitled frauds, are similar to the college sports scholarship programs. Just for playing basketball, football, baseball, track etc. These kids have no Time to study and get real earned grades. Just a handout and handicap education for playing sports on their money making sports team. Likens to affirmative action. Real students who study regardless of color can achieve education. Not handed out on a worthless college degree.

    1. I have the same question…. It seems the press is more anxious to see movie stars go to jail than the school officials that had promoted the program for bribes. They should be found just as guilty if not more.

  6. Who’s idea was it? Was Lori Loughlin approached with the offer? Or did she approach them?
There’s two sides to this story.
I think the university is just as guilty as they are.
It doesn’t make any sense, when you’re life is already privileged (financially) they could have built a university of their own.
I don’t think this will get very far in court, because of the
    people involved.

    1. I think the admissions people at the college ought to be investigated too. A little research would have shown them that these girls were never on a high school rowing team. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out. The investigation stopped short.

  7. Putting yourself above others, self entitlement, affluent syndrome, pay to get your way. Overpaid television personalities , celebrities , now they can all go to prison like Martha Stewart.

I dare anyone to take my Red MAGA HAT OFF MY HEAD. TESTOSTERONE TRUMP BANGS PRETTY WOMEN.

  8. Lock her up, lock her up, lock her up, people smoking a joint do more than two weeks, I hope Lori and her husband get 40 years, these Hollywood elite think they’re above the law

  9. What’s happening with the university employees who took the bribes strikes me as worthy of examination too. Additionally, regarding these goings on, the following comes to mind. “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”, which might ring familiar. Finally, having cooperated or not, two weeks in prison strikes me as ridiculous.

  10. Does Loughlin even care about the people she hurt? Those actors and actresses, who were in the stories where Loughlin starred, lost money because there were no reruns for which they would have been paid!
    What selfish people!

  11. take your medicine you stupid bitch. you fucked up.. paid to play… now do the time… hopefully its more than 2 weeks without lobster being served in jail.

  12. It is the first time I ever see the word affermative auction been associate with this article to me these
people involve their children in a paid for affermative auction situation .wrong wrong

  13. it’s a shame when people have money get there kids in collage that has no skills when kids that are not rich but have the skills can’t get in..

  14. These JERKS must think there kids are really stupid and cant get into a school the normal way. They think they can buy there way out of everything.14 DAYS IN JAIL WHAT A JOKE. These joker’s need to go for some real time and not be pampered. The average person would have done way more time then these clowns.

  15. “I think it sent a clear message to the other parents involved that there really is a good chance that if you’re convicted of the offense, you are going to go to prison for some period of time…” I’m surprised that common people don’t see the problem with this corruption of true “justice”. So, let’s say that you want to fight your own case believing that you’re innocent. If you do fight and don’t take their “deal”, but are convicted, you’re going to get the book thrown at you? That’s not justice. That’s outright corruption. It’s saying that the government will threaten you with greater jail time if you fight and lose. So why fight? Is it any wonder that just in the city of Chicago the traffic courts have a 95%+ conviction rate? Does anyone think that the government, having the pocketbook of the people at their disposal can prove anyone with lesser funds guilty if they want to? It’s a shame that people no longer understand real justice.

  16. 14 days doesn’t sound like much, but my husband’s ex was in jail just one night for contempt of court over our custody problems for the kids. That one night changed EVERYTHING! She never gave us any more problems over my husband’s parental rights. And it’s a message to these other elites. These people have been throwing their weight around for too long. I’m glad that they too can be brought to justice.
